At long last, we’re very happy to announce the release of Colourform for HD Widgets.
Colourform features over 50 colorful new Jellybean / 4.2 style widgets for Android phones and tablets. This light-weight pack (only 2MB) focuses on a simpler, more minimal, flat UI design while allowing more flexibility and customization than ever before.
A lot has changed on Android in the last couple of years. When we first started HD Widgets, toggle switches were very common and we could all do a lot of things with them. Since then, many common toggles such as GPS, 3G, and even Flight Mode have been made inaccessible by updates to Android OS.
HD Widgets will soon have over 50 switches – except most of them aren’t really “switches”. At current count only 18 actually toggle something. The rest are simply status indicators & action triggers.
To keep up with the times we’re going to change what we call these things. You’ll soon see it in Colourform. Switches will be called Quick Settings to match Google’s naming style for the notification switches introduced in Jellybean.
It’s real! Very happy to offer a hands-on preview of our first widget theme pack, Colourform, along with an obviously necessary to make it work update to HD Widgets!
We just released HD Widgets 3.7 in the Play Store with new widgets made for Android 4.2 lock screens. We added a mix of clocks and “side widgets” options depending on which kind of device you’re using – phone or tablet. We’ve successfully tested on the Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4, Nexus 7, and Nexus 10.
