So the big news this week is we finally acquired cloudskipper.com. I’ve been hooked on this name since we started our migration from Mixwit, but the domain was already taken. Fortunately, the previous owner was a great guy and open to letting it go. I’ve been holding my breath (and tongue) until this transfer was complete so I could start talking about our project. Although cloud.tv is our company brand and destination, our core application is called Cloudskipper. But like any new app, it’s good to lock down the dot-com address from the beginning. I can check that off now =)
This week we also finalized the alpha for Mixwidget (the open source mixtape based on Mixwit) so I could finally move on to prototyping Cloudskipper. Mike’s goal is to have something to show people by SXSW in March so we’ll be building the prototype quickly.
For now, I’m just stoked that I’m finally free to show off the logos I came up with earlier this month. I’m very happy with the design, which was probably the easiest type-conversion I’ve done yet. Here’s the results:
